Middletown North’s Reid claims second 400 hurdles county title

Middletown High School North sprinter/hurdler Jenna Reid won her second straight 400-intermediate hurdles championship in 1:02.54 at the Monmouth County Championships in Holmdel May 11.

Reid is the oldest daughter of former Marlboro High School standout Lorelei Boggs.

The versatile Boggs was a sprinter, hurdler and jumper for the Mustangs. She competed in multi-event competitions while at Marlboro.

Boggs has passed speed and versatility to her daughter. Reid, who started out as a sprinter, was inspired to do the hurdles, she said, because its an event her mother ran.

Reid also ran fourth in the 400 dash (59.04) and second in the 100 hurdles (15.23). She is a junior.
