Michael R. Tuosto of North Brunswick has been named a Loyal Son by the Rutgers Alumni Association (RAA) for 2016.

Tuosto has been on the Rutgers Board of Trustees since 1984, serving as vice chair from 1989-­90 and chair from 1990­-91. After serving two full terms on the board, he was made a trustee emeritus in 1997 and continues to be an active trustee on the Board.

Following his term as chair, Tuosto was nominated to become a trustee/governor and served on the Board of Governors from 1991­-97. His served on more than 20 committees, chairing a number of them.

Besides his role on the boards, Tuosto is a member of the Rutgers Graduate School of Management Alumni Council, the Rutgers University Alumni Federation, the Rutgers Chair and Gavel Society and is active with the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity.

Tuosto is a 1962 graduate of the School of Business-Undergraduate and a 1965 graduate of the Rutgers Business School-Graduate. He is the first Loyal Son who completed his undergraduate studies at the Newark campus.
