OCEAN TOWNSHIP- Residents hoping to beat the heat this summer now can register to use the township’s community pool.
Registration is open for membership to the Township of Ocean’s Community Pool and Tennis Facility at 615 West Park Ave,. which features three pools — a kiddie pool for the youngest swimmers, the main pool with an open swim area and separate lap section and a dive tank. The facility is located on a 13-acre area in the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township.
In addition, there are tennis courts, picnic areas and a playground on the site.
The facility is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends and holidays beginning Saturday, May 28 and will operate seven days a week when township schools close for the summer.
A variety of individual and family memberships are available for both Ocean Township residents and non-residents, with discounted senior and evening memberships offered.
Throughout the summer, there will be a full schedule of swim lessons, tennis programs and youth activities such as crafts, sports and story time. There is a snack bar on site selling quick meals and refreshments, and a picnic grove is available for family and corporate functions.
