HOPEWELLS: Tsunami, Sun Dogs report soccer wins  

The Hopewell Valley girls under-11 Tsunami team scored league wins last weekend over the Westfield Menace and longtime rival Branchburg Twisters.
On Saturday, the Tsunamis defeated Westfield, 3-2, on goals from Caroline Mormile, Kirsten Ruf and Kathryn McCabe. Andie Cappucci and McCabe assisted the first two goals. Leah McManimon assisted the game-winning goal to McCabe off of a booming punt from goal.
On Sunday, the Tsunamis defeated the Branchburg Twisters, 5-3. Andie Cappucci received match honors with two goals and two assists. Mae Fesmire (2) and Kathryn McCabe also tallied for Hopewell. Leah McManimon added an assist.
The Tsunami back line of Addison Sullivan, Madison Ayres, and Rory Danieluk stifled the Branchburg offense. The Tsunamis received midfield and front line support from Maggie Buglino, Charlotte Tellier, Emma Sullivan and Maura Graham. Kirsten Ruf played a tremendous game in goal for the Tsunamis.

Despite nifty passing and solid teamwork, the HVSA boys under-10 Riptides fell to PFC, 5-4.
Riptide goals came from Brandon Napoleon (2), Alex Romano, and DanielGolian. Lukas Ansari, Kieran Karp, Charlie Stocks-Natalias, and CameronVelez each had assists.
The Riptides got tough defensive work from Garrett Wille, while Matthew Whitlock, Will Stover and Christian Mayer all playedwell on offense.

The under-11 Bolts played to two draws last week. On Tuesday the Bolts tied the Cranford Crew, 2-2. Tom Hooks scored the first goal off an assist from Alex Luedeke and Kevin Ellis scored in the second half on a penalty kick.
On Sunday, the Bolts played West Windsor-Plainsboro Benefica to a 2-2 tie. Liam Sciple scored the first goal on a cross from Luedeke. Luedeke scored the second goal on a breakaway. Midfielders Ethan Gross, Han Sol Kim and Gunnar Casano played well in both games, as did defenders Henry Sciple and Aldo Branham. Goalkeeper Tim McKeown kept the Bolts in both games.

The Hopewell Valley girls under-10 Sun Dogs posted a 6-3 victory over Franklin Township on Sunday at home.
Gillian Magner scored to start off the rally and then assisted Casey von Oehsen’s first goal. Von Oehsen went on to score twice more for a hat trick, once with an assist from Julie Somers. Alexa Marino and Julie Somers posted the remaining two goals for the Sun Dogs.
Madelyn Patterson, Frankie Somers and Katie Yancey did an excellent job in the backfield supporting goalkeeper Kennedy Havens, who made several excellent saves. Chloe Johnson capably played both offense and defense and Ana Chrnelich contributed key defensive moves. 
