Mary Sophia Johnson, of Meadow Lakes, Hightstown, N.J. passed away peacefully on April 28th after complications from hip surgery. Mary was born in Fresno CA. and graduated from Fresno State University and the University of Chicago. She was a teacher, homemaker, artist and activist who moved East in the fifties with her husband Harold G. Johnson and raised three sons in Lawrenceville, NJ. Mary loved to read and travel the world over, and was very fond of Latin America. She remained active in pursuing art in her elder years and was very proud of her accomplishments in juried senior artist shows.
Predeceased by her husband Harold Johnson,she is survived by her three sons; Hal (Kathy),Eric (Barbara),Martin(Annette),and three grandchildren: Gustav,Anne,and Jack.
A service of remembrance will be held at Meadow Lakes 300 Etra Rd.,Hightstown,N.J. on Sat.,June 11th at 1:00.
