U.S. Marine Corps to land helicopters in East Brunswick

EAST BRUNSWICK – The United States Marine Corps (USMC) will hold an aviation demonstration in East Brunswick on May 27 to showcase sea service capabilities to kickoff Fleet Week.

The USMC will be landing two helicopters, a CH-53E and a MV-22, on the back lower soccer field of the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School on Rues Lane around 9 a.m. The Marines will also provide a static display of about 15 Marines with their personal weapons/gear, a military working dog and an explosives ordnance demolition robot through around 11:30 a.m.

Students and the general public will have the ability to walk through the helicopters, talk to the Marines and see the static displays up close. The event is open to the public but the students will have first priority to the helicopters and static displays.

All visitors will be directed to the upper soccer field to observe the landing and then be allowed to view the helicopters and displays up-close. The school building will not be open to the public during the event. Overflow parking will be available at the neighboring Brunswick Square Mall.
