The Monmouth County Historical Association’s 41st annual Garden Party will be held from 5-8 p.m. June 26 at a private Rumson residence. Trustee Dr. Norman D. Hungerford of Marlboro will be the association’s honoree this year for his support of historic preservation throughout Monmouth County, according to a press release.
Hungerford has served on the Board of Trustees for eight years and has been an active member of its Buildings and Grounds committee, according to the press release. He has been involved with each of the Visiting Nurse Association of Central New Jersey’s “Stately Homes By-The-Sea” show house events.
The Quaker Meeting House, the borough of Shrewsbury, the Shrewsbury Garden Club, the Monmouth Reform Temple, Rumson Country Day School and Isles are just a few of the beneficiaries of Hungerford’s expertise and services over the years, according to the press release.
In announcing the honoree, board President Linda Bricker said, “We are grateful for Dr. Hungerford’s tireless work on behalf of the association and for his support which has made our historic properties flourish. His dedication, generosity and commitment to history and historic preservation are truly deserving of this honor.”
