The Atlantic Highlands Public Library will host local author Teresa Irizarry from 7-8 p.m. June 2 at 100 First Ave. She will sign copies of her new book, “Rekindled,” a 17th-century historical novel.

The book is a thought-provoking, finely detailed portrait of the struggles to implement a practical separation of church and state during the first half of the 17th century. Historical social pioneer Roger Williams’ motivations, influences and challenges of domestic and overseas authorities are chronicled.
