The annual Strawberry Festival, sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury Board of Deacons, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Strawberries, cake, ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, music, games, face painting, a clown and more will be available. The church is at 22 S. Main St., Cranbury. The event will be held rain or shine and benefits the Deacons benevolence fund.

The Cranbury Museum will host a program titled “When We Were Young: Shopping Along Cranbury’s Main Street” to compliment the museum’s current exhibit, “Merchants of Main Street: A Stroll Through the Shoppes of Cranbury’s Past.” The program, which begins at 1:30 p.m., will feature a panel of community members who lived and shopped on Main Street, sharing personal experiences and family stories about the businesses. A new group called DeathCafe will meet at 6:30 p.m. the Perkins Restaurant at 50 Princeton Hightstown Road, East Windsor. The meeting offers an opportunity to gather in a safe, non-judgmental environment to discuss any aspect of death that may be of interest to you. A pasta dinner to benefit Better Beginnings in Hightstown will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church, 22 S. Main St., Cranbury. Beth El Synagogue of East Windsor Genealogy Club will present Art Finkle and a discussion on the Jewish Community that settled into the Trenton area at 7:30 p.m. Art is the chair of the Trenton Jewish Historical Society and will delve into the immigrant periods of a displaced people adapting to a completely new environment. He will highlight Trenton’s institutions, its work and its eventual economic success, and explore the second generation Russian community along with the older and smaller German Jewish community. Trenton is one of many small cities that served as havens for Jewish refugees who came to the land of opportunity to eventually achieve the American dream. Art also plans to highlight the history of Beth El Synagogue, whose congregation dates back to 1906. The Rotary Club of Robbinsville Hamilton will host “ROTARUN”, a 5K race and fundraiser to benefit veterans groups and local charities, in Veterans’ Park in Hamilton Township, N.J. Sign-in for runners will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 runners in several categories. There will also be a 1K fun walk.
