The Hopewell Heat had a memorable Memorial Day tournament. The girls 12-and-under team won its bracket and tied for second overall in the 13-and-under division with 3 wins and 1 loss.
They defeated Maple Shade Stars, 5-1; PFC White Flash, 2-1, and Hamilton Wildcats, 5-1.
The Heat defense was a big factor in the success. Those players include Anna Gill, Erin Popik, Ella Zimmerman, Adele Cappucci, Emily Neal, and Ellie Hill. Goalies Gillian Lee and Sarah Yancey had numerous saves throughout the tournament.
Goals were scored by Mea Allex, Diana Benford, Sydney Isaacson, Lara Paoloni, Samantha Shaw, Katie Tillman and Sofia Venezia.
