The Family Addiction Network will host its monthly meeting from 7-8:30 p.m. June 21 at the West Long Branch Community Center at 116 Locust Ave.
Families and friends can seek support in dealing with addiction in a nonjudgmental, compassionate and receptive environment free of charge.
David Dolan will present “Managing Fear When Your Loved One Returns From Treatment.” The presentation will focus on managing the fears that arise when a family member returns from in-patient treatment. He will share different strategies for self-care with a focus on mindfulness meditation, including a guided practice that can be used whether or not a loved one has gone away for treatment.
Dolan has a master’s degree from Monmouth University in mental health counseling, with a specialty in substance abuse counseling.
