Upper Freehold board gives Millstone hard time

Once again it appears the Upper Freehold Regional School District Board of Education is giving the Millstone Township K-8 School District Board of Education a hard time over Millstone sending some students to Red Bank Regional High School because of Red Bank Regional’s superior academic programs in certain areas. Upper Freehold Regional wants the students because it wants the money.

Over the years I have lived in Millstone, the Upper Freehold Regional board has consistently been uncooperative, non-collaborative and non-transparent with the Millstone board. Millstone students represent more than 50 percent of the  population at Allentown High School and yet the Millstone board’s input receives little consideration by Upper Freehold Regional.

It is time for the Millstone board to approach the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education and join with them in order that Millstone high school students will be able to attend Marlboro and Colts Neck high schools.
