TINTON FALLS — Seabrook, a continuing care retirement community in Tinton Falls, unveiled a new look for its in-house TV studio at a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 2.

Planning for the new set began last year when Travis Tanay and Nick Dolphin from Seabrook TV gathered information from resident volunteers and experts in the field about what would work best for the campus studio makeover.

“We have put a lot of time and thought into the renovations,” said Tanay. “The finished product is just astounding, and I could not be happier.”

The new set has a living room look with a comfortable couch chair, rug and table as well as a newscaster’s desk, green screen and gel backdrop. Equipment upgrades include a Newtek tricaster, video hub and a switch drive that allows the crew to record directly to hard drive. In addition, the studio has a new editor, sound equipment as well as updated field cameras.

“Workflow will be much easier, and this will allow us to turn out newer and better-looking content for the residents to enjoy and that makes me very excited,” said Dolphin.

Glover Hill, who has been volunteering at the studio since he and his wife moved to Seabrook from Staten Island in 2002, said the new space is like “utopia.” He remembers when the studio only had a few cameras and basic equipment.

Seabrook TV broadcasts five live shows, informational programs, documentaries, interview segments and other community-oriented programming with more than 40 Seabrook residents serving as on-air talent and working behind the scenes in the studio.
