Disturbance at home prompts search, ends with arrest of Manalapan man

MANALAPAN – A dispute between adults saw police officers respond to a home on Union Hill Road on the evening of June 13 and led to a search of the surrounding area.

Police said that at 8:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the home in reference to a dispute between adults. When the officers arrived, they were informed that one person may have been in possession of a weapon during the dispute and were told it was not known if that man had since fled the residence.

The area was secured until it could be determined if weapons were involved in the dispute. The owner of the home advised the officers there was a replica firearm in the residence and that weapon was voluntarily turned over to the police.

Manalapan Police Capt. Thomas Barstow subsequently reported that the person who fled the area did not have a weapon when he fled the scene and was arrested when Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to the Freehold Township Police Department at 9:26 a.m. June 17 to pick up a person with multiple warrants for his arrest.

Police said Justin Black, 25, of Manalapan, was placed under arrest for an active $400 criminal warrant from Camden municipal court and a $1,000 criminal warrant from Manalapan. Police said Black was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be heroin and drug paraphernalia. He  was initially placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $7,400 bail with no 10 percent option.

In other incidents reported by police:

• On June 19 at 12:10 a.m., officers responded to a home on Ogden Lane for a report of loud music. Upon further investigation, the homeowner was issued a summons for unlawful noise. In addition, a 15-year-old female from Freehold Borough was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon after throwing an object at a police officer. The juvenile was released to her parents.

• On June 19 at 7:03 a.m., Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky responded to the Englishtown Auction Sales and met with a resident of Windsor. The man was a vendor at the auction and told the officer that an unknown individual removed $1,000 worth of merchandise from his table while he was away from the table.

• On June 16 at 6:40 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Meyler responded to a Short Oaks Court home in reference to a burglary. Police said the abandoned home had been forcibly entered by unknown individuals. There did not appear to be any property removed from the home.

• On June 16 at 5:30 p.m., Patrolman John Lightbody conducted a motor vehicle stop on Tennent Road after observing a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Anthony Gonzalez, 27, of Marlboro, and the passenger, Michael Landesman, 27, of Marlboro, were charged with being in possession of a substance believed to be heroin and drug paraphernalia. Gonzalez and Landesman were transported to police headquarters, processed and released. Police said Gonzalez was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses.

• On June 14 at 9:14 p.m., a hit and run motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Gordons Corner Road and Saratoga Drive. The suspect vehicle, described as a small white car, struck and damaged another vehicle and drove over a stop sign. The vehicle fled the scene on Saratoga Drive. No injuries to any individuals were reported. Police said the suspect vehicle should have damage to the driver side and front of the car and may have had one or more flat tires when it left the scene.
