Yes, graduation has come and gone, thus the scholastic season in New Jersey will not resume for another few months.

But there are still plenty of events, many featuring high school athletes, on tap in the coming week.

Fans of high school football don’t have to wait until September to watch their favorite sport.

At Kean University in Union on June 27, the 38th annual Phil Simms New Jersey North-South All-Star Football Classic will be played.

Fans will get to see the very best  New Jersey scholastic football players from the Class of 2016 one last time before they head off to college. The stars from the Greater Media Publishing area are will be playing for the South all-star squad.

Kick off at Kean is  at 7 p.m.

The Shore Baseball Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game will be June 24 at First Energy Park in Lakewood. The first pitch will be thrown at 8 p.m.

Players were chosen via a draft so some teammate will be playing on opposite sides in this American versus National game. 

Since 1964 runners have been racing around Lake Takanassee in West Long Branch making the annual Takanassee Lake Races one of the oldest and most recognizable in the state.

On June 27 the race series will begin its 52nd year with the featured event, the 5,000-meter run, starting at 6:45 p.m.

The races will be held every Monday through Aug. 15.

The Freehold Area Running Club 34th Summer 5K Race Series continues June 29 at the historic Battle of Monmouth State Park on Old Route 33 in Manalapan.

In addition to the 5k race, there are half-mile and mile-runs for those ages 8-and-up.

The series will continue on Wednesday evenings through July 27.

For followers of high school basketball, the Monroe Sports Complex is where the action is. The complex’s Boys’ and Girls’ Summer Basketball League plays games Monday-Thursday evenings.

Baseball fans can see some of the top collegiate players in the country in the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate Baseball League.

On June 26, the New Brunswick Matrix are playing the Freehold Clippers in a double-header at  the North Brunswick Community Park that starts at 10 a.m. The rosters of both teams are loaded with ex-high school standouts from Monmouth and Middlesex counties.
