NEW BRUNSWICK – Mark your calendars for great food, exciting contests and ambient sounds. New Brunswick City Market is excited to announce that Restaurant Week, which will run more than one week, will be held July 9-July 23.
This culinary tradition highlights the eclectic dining options that distinguish New Brunswick as a dining destination. Restaurant Week unites New Brunswick’s internationally diverse range of chefs who will be cooking up some mouth-watering dishes during this 15-day extravaganza. Diners will be able to taste the district’s celebrated food scene, enjoy the sounds of strolling musicians and have the chance to win prizes from participating restaurants, hotels and cultural venues.
City Market invites you to indulge in the most delicious two-weeks of summer during New Brunswick Restaurant Week! From Saturday, July 9 through Saturday, July 23, Restaurant Week will feature over thirty-five restaurants from the downtown and around town, with each restaurant offering a prix fixe menu or lunch and dinner special. Throughout the two weeks, restaurants will showcase their signature style, offering diners a variety of savory dishes to fit any taste and budget. Restaurant Week is the perfect time to visit an old favorite or try something new.
Also during the week of July 11, City Market will present two live radio broadcasts at two fabulous restaurants, featuring Tommy G, a well-known talk show host with WCTC, who will be joined by WCTC’s “Street Team” where you can try your luck at the prize wheel.
Leading up to Restaurant Week, City Market invites you to New Brunswick to celebrate the nation’s 240th Anniversary of Independence along the banks of the Raritan River on Sunday, July 3, in Boyd Park from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Pack up the kids, bring some snacks, a blanket or chair, and enjoy a historical re-enactment of Washington’s famous salute to the American Army with muskets and cannon fire at 5 p.m., followed by live music and a community reading of the Declaration of Independence. Culminating the event will be a spectacular fireworks display.
On Wednesday’s, the New Brunswick Community Farmers Market holds a seasonal farmers market with 10 vendors in downtown New Brunswick between the hours of 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Then, on Fridays from 12p.m. – 1p.m., City Market presents a lunchtime live music series in Kilmer Square, located at the corner of Albany and George Streets. Throughout the summer, New Brunswick will be host to an array of free outdoor festivals and free concerts.
