Allan Stumpf has been appointed as assistant director by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA). In this role, Stumpf will implement the Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) Unified Sports program among member schools while also overseeing boys/girls volleyball, girls soccer, swimming and diving and golf.

Unified Sports programs are dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without disabilities on the same team and playing field to compete alongside one another, providing everyone an equal opportunity to participate in and receive the benefits of interscholastic athletics.

Thanks to funding from SONJ, Stumpf will work with the SONJ to spearhead a 3-year pilot program and work with schools to establish inclusive interscholastic athletic programs that are accessible to student-athletes of all abilities. The proposed programs include 5-on-5 soccer, basketball and track.
