Late summer concerts slated at Resorts Casino

ATLANTIC CITY — Resorts Casino Hotel has announced a variety of shows coming to the Superstar Theater. The Village People, also known as the “Kings of Disco,” will perform at 8 p.m. on Aug. 27. Billy Ocean will bring his talents to Resorts at 8 p.m. Sept. 10, and The Hit Men will perform classic pop hits from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s at 8 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Selling over 100 million recordings, including the timeless hit “YMCA,” The Village People have been featured in commercials with stars such as Beyonce and Ellen DeGeneres and have performed on programs such as the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year’s Eve.” Tickets range from $30-$50.

London native Billy Ocean has sold 30 million records, achieving gold and platinum status. He was inspired by soul singers Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. After signing with GTO Records, Ocean released his second single, “Love Really Hurts Without You,” which played its way to No. 12 in the U.S. and No. 2 in the U.K. “The Very Best of Billy Ocean,” was released in 2010, selling 72,000 copies in four weeks. Currently, Ocean is on an international tour. Tickets range from $40-$60.

The Hit Men is a group consisting of Lee Shapiro, Jimmy Ryan, Larry Gates, Russ Velazquez and Steve Murphy who have worked with many artists, such as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Elton John, Sting and Paul McCartney. Enjoy the sounds of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s while incredible visual footage is also displayed. Tickets range from $25-$40.
