Kelly’s Heroes has presented two scholarships to students who are pursuing careers in healthcare: Luke Schlaifer of Hightstown, Hightstown High School, and Brittany Konen of Middletown Township, PA., Notre Dame High School.
The Kelly’s Heroes scholarship of $500 recognizes good student-citizens who plan to serve others through a career in healthcare.
Luke plans to study exercise science at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He has been an active supporter of Kelly’s Heroes’ efforts against pancreatic cancer and was part of the Kelly’s Heroes team that took part in the annual PurpleStride walk last November.
Brittany will study nursing in the fall at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. She is a resident of Levittown’s Twin Oaks neighborhood where Kelly’s Heroes inspiration Steve Kelly grew up.
Kelly’s Heroes is a 501(c)3 based in East Windsor, inspired by longtime East Windsor resident Steve Kelly, who died in April 2015 of the disease. 

Deanna Fisher of Monroe Township.
Danielle Friedman of Monroe Township.
Alexa Kutz of Monroe Township.
Kerry McCabe of Monroe Township.
Michelle McLean of Cranbury.
Emily Moyes of Monroe Township.
Francesca Speranza of Monroe Township.
The Dean’s List, an honor conferred at the end of the fall and spring semesters, recognizes outstanding academic performance by undergraduate students. Undergraduate students who have been graded in a minimum of 12 credits counting toward their GPA for the semester and who have earned a minimum 3.33 GPA for a given semester are honored with Dean’s List recognition for that semester. 
Elizabeth Hager of Monroe Township was named to the dean’s list at Miami University.
Miami University students who achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for second semester 2015-2016 have been named to the dean’s list recognizing academic performance.
Elizabeth is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree majoring in Environmental Earth Science, Individualized Studies. 
Jessica Van Dusen of Monroe Township has been named to Alvernia University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2016 semester. She is studying Occupational Therapy at Alvernia and is a graduate of Monroe Township High School.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits. 
Horace R. Klein of Skillman graduated from Trinity College inHartford, Connecticut, on May 22, 2016. Klein earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering. 
The following local residents have been named to the spring 2016 Dean’s List at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a “C“ and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring of 2016.
Yamna Azhar of East Windsor is a doctor of pharmacy student.
Toral Patel of Monroe Township is a doctor of pharmacy student.
Katharine Wilchek of Monroe Township is a doctor of physical therapy student.
Bianca Patel of Monroe is a physician assistant studies student. 
The following students have been named to the Marist College Dean’s List for the Spring 2016 semester:
Alexandra Beers of Monroe Township is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in communication.
Amber Kelly of Monroe Township is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in communication. 
Srushti Shah of East Windsor graduated from the State University of New York with a master of science degree with a concentration in computer science. The university conferred 227 advanced degrees following the conclusion of the spring 2016 semester. 
