Two suspects charged following overnight burglaries

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A second suspect has been charged for his alleged role in a string of overnight burglaries in the area.

Christopher Smith, 25, of North Brunswick, was charged by detectives on July 6 in New Brunswick. Inez Young, 23, of North Brunswick, was charged the previous week week for her alleged role in the burglaries.

Smith and Young are both charged in connection to four overnight burglaries in South Brunswick during June, according to a statement prepared by the South Brunswick Police Department. Both are accused of allegedly entering an open garage door or unlocked slider door and stealing items while the residents were asleep, police said.

Smith and Young were lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick as of press time.
