The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), announced the recipients of the prestigious Peter A. Famiano Memorial Scholarship. Junior golfers Brittany Morgan of Metuchen and David Haselkorn of Franklin Lakes were awarded scholarships at the 8th Annual New Jersey Golf Foundation Peter A. Famiano Memorial Pro-Am June 30 at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange.

On May 14, 2016, Red Bank Regional (RBR) High School held its first football Alumni Game on the Count Basie field against Long Branch; thus, reuniting the oldest rivals in the Shore Conference.
Over 2,000 people attended the match, making it the most well-attended alumni game in recent history.
The game did not go well for the Buccaneers, who lost 24-0. However, the current and future RBR athletes were the true winners of the game, as $5,000 of the proceeds were donated to RBR for its new fitness room.
Jim Palumbo acknowledges that a second donation of $2,000 will also be made to the Athletic Youth Football organization from the games proceeds.
