Hopewell Borough continued its year of 125th anniversary events with a lecture to an appreciative audience, followed by a concert, on the topic “If You Knew Sousa” on Monday night at the Hopewell Museum.
Jerry Rife, professor of music at Rider University, spoke about how John Philip Sousa “became the most famous musician in the world” and the impact he had on local bands.
Following the talk, Dr. Rife moved his talents outside to the museum grounds to lead the Blawenburg Band in a concert featuring Sousa music.
