Mon., July 18 
Ready, Set, Braid! from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Hightstown Memorial Library, 114 Franklin St. in Hightstown. Learn how to create fun and classic braided hairstyles, make a hair accessory, and get your hair braided as well. Bring your own hairbrush and ponytail holders. Girls may bring a doll for a hairstyle if they do not want their own hair done. For girls ages 5-12. No registration required.
Hand Embroidery: Pattern Design will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library System, 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, N.J. Learn how to follow hand embroidery kit template instructions, then explore ideas for creating your own embroidery designs. A variety of methods for transferring your design onto fabric will be discussed. Students must have prior embroidery experience. All materials provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Hickory Corner Library.

Reducing Anxiety, Overcoming Fatigue and Improving Sleep will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library System, 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, N.J. Learn powerful techniques to manage stress, anxiety and fatigue in this free introductory workshop presented by Girish Jha, MS, BS. Jha is a specialist in Eastern Wisdom and has been teaching, mentoring, and promoting wellness for people seeking proven results without the reliance (and costs) associated with pharmaceuticals. T’ai Chi Chih will be held at 2 p.m. at the Plumsted Branch of the Ocean County Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, N.J. From the tea burning at Princeton to the Treaty of Paris, Walter Choroszewski presents New Jersey’s preeminent contributions to the Revolution. Stories include the retreat across the Jerseys and the triumphant return across the Delaware, battles at Princeton, Monmouth and Springfield, winters at Middlebrook and Morristown and Rochambeau’s march through the Crossroads of the Revolution.
