Beverly G. Crane, passed away peacefully on 11 July 2016, a month away from her 90 birthday. Wife of the late Robert H. Crane Sr. both formally of Trumbull CT. and Port St Lucie FL.
Born to the Samuel Gill (rooted in County Downs Ireland to Rochester NY) and Mary Weller (rooted in England to Wadsworth NY). She was born Beverly Jane Gill during the Great Depression in Buffalo NY. During their
childhood Bev and her 4 siblings moved 11 times around the Rochester area, sadly losing her father and a sister in her pre-school years. Ultimately she would meet her WWII Army Air Force fly boy – Bob – at a USO dance, who she married immediately after his WW II B17
bombing flight commitments and V – E Day. They settled in Long Hill (Trumbull) CT where they raised their three sons. They enjoyed their retirement years in Port St Lucie FL. From Florida Bev moved to beautiful New Hampshire for her remaining years ‘to be near her boys’.
Surviving Bev are her three boys and their families:
– Richard G. Crane I, wife Valerie and their children: Jennifer; Richard G. II, wife Jaime and their children Emma, Katie, and Richard G. III; and Christopher I, wife Lindsey and their children Christopher II, Connor, and Charlene all of the Crane communes in Canaan CT.
– Robert H. Crane Jr. and wife Melanie of Parsonsfield ME, Jack Crane of New Ipswich NH / Holly of Princeton NJ and their children: Tara and husband Doug Sutphen and son Colton of Pennington NJ; Dr. Cortney Crane of Atlanta GA; and Bryce Crane of Plymouth MI.
– Niece Dr. Kathy Gill of Rochester NY
– And many Gill / Flynn / Weller cousins.
During her working years, Bev had been employed by Taylor Instrument (NY), the Trumbull school system (CT), Moffit Insurance company (CT) and Doctor
Austrian and Sherlips (GPs) office (CT).
Bev enjoyed life wherever she was, giving more than she ever received – an active and ardent Mom, she was fully supportive of her boys growing up. She excelled at
several hobbies, with card playing probably the most serious hobby and bridge being the focal point; square dancing; sewing, knitting, ice skating, crocheting,
traveling, painting and needlepoint. Her most favorite memories were a toss-up between their square dancing and RV trips, and the many summer vacations taken with the boys throughout New England and New York State.
Many thanks go out to all the family and friends who she touched throughout the years – as you made her life journey safe, adventurous and enjoyable – her thoughts were often about you all.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated and interred with husband Bob at a veteran’s cemetery during a private service to be held in the future.
