Mr. and Mrs. Walter Avansino of Monroe recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple was married June 9, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
In honor of the Avansinos’ anniversary, a celebratory dinner with their immediate family was held at Nonna’s Citi Cucina, Marlboro. The event was hosted by the couple’s three children, Thomas W. Avansino of Monroe, Maryanne Avansino Bulick of Scotch Plains and Nina Avansino Mongan of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mrs. Avansino, the former Rose Pipitone, is a homemaker.
Prior to his retirement in 1985 after 32 years of service, her husband was employed as a regional branch manager with Manufacturers Hanover Trust, New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Avansino are members of the Nativity of Our Lord Choir, Monroe.
The couple has two grandchildren.
