Deadly Ink Mystery Conference to include Little Silver author

Mystery author Jack Getze, of Little Silver, will appear at the 2016 Deadly Ink Mystery Conference set for Aug. 5-7 at the Hyatt Regency, 2 Albany St., New Brunswick. Early registration begins 9 a.m. Aug. 5.

A former reporter for the Los Angeles Times, Getze is the fiction editor for Spinetingler Magazine, one of the Internet’s oldest websites for noir, crime and horror short stories. He is the author of the Austin Carr mysteries and short stories, which have appeared in publications.

Fans who register for this year’s conference can meet Getze and more than two dozen other published suspense authors, who will share their expertise over three days of workshops and panels.

The conference will kick off on Friday with Deadly Ink Academy classes from 10 a.m.-noon for aspiring writers. Speakers will include Jane Cleland, author of the award-winning Josie Prescott Antiques Mysteries, and S.W. Hubbard, author of mystery novels and short stories.

Official registration for the Friday evening conference begins 7 p.m. Aug. 5. A welcoming program and introduction of authors will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Deadly Desserts Party.

Saturday and Sunday will feature continuous panels and presentations by guest authors and mystery and crime experts.

At the Saturday night Gala Awards Dinner, Reed Farrel Coleman will speak, and the David G. Sasher Sr. Award will be presented for Best Mystery of 2015. Attendees will vote for the winner, by secret ballot, during the conference.

Those registering can pay a flat price for the entire conference or take advantage of  “a la carte” options. For more information or to register, visit www.deadlyink2016.org.
