Police allegedly seize drugs, cash in South River raid

SOUTH RIVER — Thanks to the efforts of police, an alleged armed drug dealer is now out of business.

Last month, members of the South River Police Department (SRPD), in conjunction with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, apprehended a man in his house and allegedly seized large quantities of cocaine, heroin and other drugs, according to information provided by the SRPD.

Police executed a court-approved search warrant, which was obtained as part of an investigation conducted by SRPD’s Detective Bureau, for the home of Leeman Sesay, 37, on Old Bridge Turnpike, at approximately 8:44 a.m. June 15.

Police reportedly seized large amounts of cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and various prescription medications including oxycodone, oxycontin, oxymorphone, clonazepam, morphine and other opiates as well as drug paraphernalia, according to police. Along with the drugs, officers also reportedly recovered and seized a .22 caliber revolver pistol and $7,198.25.

Sesay was charged with possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine over a half ounce, possession of heroin, possession of oxymorphone, possession with intent to distribute oxymorphone, possession of a firearm without a permit, certain persons not to possess a firearm, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In lieu of $200,000 bail, he was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.
