HILLSBOROUGH: Sourland Music Festival brings the heat to the Hillsborough Country Club

People of all ages took to the Sourland Conservancy on Saturday to enjoy a day of live music, vendors and family fun at the 13th Annual Sourland Music Festival at the Hillsborough Country Club.
With the Sourland mountain as a backdrop for the day’s festivities, kids of all ages splashed in the misting tent and played water games while music fans soaked in the soothing sounds.
Sponsored by Koenig, Russo & Associates, The Luminations Group, European Plus Inc., and HRC Fitness, the music festival had performances by The Blue Wave Ramblers, Christine Havrilla, Jim Ridi, Ten Foot Tall and C.C. Coletti that gave revelers a reason to dance despite the sweltering summer heat.
Hungry attendees had their pick from several food trucks and vendors, including The Empanada Guy, Oink & Moo BBQ, New World Pizza and Clyde’s Homemade Italian Ices and Ice Cream.
For the adults, a beer brewed specially for the music festival by Flounder Brewing, of Hillsborough, and 902 Brewing Company, of Hoboken, was available. The “hoppy wheat blend” was the subject of a naming contest prior to the festival, with its winning name “Rock’n the Sourlands” ultimately being announced that the day. Several selections of the Ringoes-based Unionville Vineyards’ favorite wines were available to try.
More than 20 vendors from the surrounding area were also on-site with everything from handcrafted jewelry and clothes to homemade hot sauces, soaps and lotions for sale.
All proceeds from the festival go directly to support the Sourland Conservancy, which is a non-profit organization that aims to protect the Sourland Mountain region.
