HAZLET — Immediate Care Medical Walk-in Group provided children, adolescents and parents an opportunity to enjoy a day of open water fishing on the Raritan Bay.

“This is our second year hosting the fishing trip for the kids, and we hope to continue it for years to come,” said CEO Sal Cannizzaro.

“Giving these kids the opportunity to get out on the water and deep sea fish during their summer break from school is a great way to expose them to an activity they might not otherwise experience and get to enjoy.”

During the trip, which took place July 7, attendees saw great weather and reeled in some flounder and even a shark.

For the event, Immediate Care Medical Walk-in Group partnered with Bayshore community organizations Raine Foundation and Father Time, and food sponsors included Jersey Mike’s of Middletown and Atlantic Bagel Company.

“I strongly believe in supporting my community and giving back, and I feel privileged to have been able to spend the day with these wonderful kids,” Cannizzaro said.

“Anyone who knows me, knows fishing is my passion, it’s in my blood. So, the expressions on the kids’ faces when they hook a fish and reel it in for the first time is priceless, and it’s what makes the trip so special for me.”

With locations in Hazlet, Toms River and East Windsor, Immediate Care Medical Walk-in Group offers cost-effective, convenient, superior-quality and compassionate care and services through combining medical expertise with understanding and sincerity.
