Teams are being sought for the fall session of Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Office’s Adult Slow Pitch Softball Leagues. Those interested can register now. All leagues begin play in late August.

The two field locations are Thomas Edison Park in Edison and Warren Park in Woodbridge. Some games may also be played at South Amboy’s Raritan Bay Waterfront Park.

Several spring season athletes from The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison were named to all-star teams by coaches in the Greater Middlesex Conference and New Jersey Prep leagues.

The co-ed golf team, which rolled to an undefeated divisional record to win the Blue Division title, was well-represented on the all-division team. Seniors Cecily D’Amore of Scotch Plains and Josh Marseille of Linden, junior Brennan Wright of Westfield and sophomore Cathy Bi of Edison were recognized. Veteran head coach Jim Howard of North Plainfield was named GMC Blue Coach of the Year.

Senior Mike Jesionka of Middlesex and sophomore Ovidio Chavez of Elizabeth represented the baseball team on both the All-GMC Gold and All-Prep B teams. Senior Lacey Gress of Linden and sophomore Brittney Wilson of North Plainfield earned the same distinction on the softball diamond.

Tennis player Satish Kumar of Edison received mention on the All-White Division and All-GMC teams, while track and field athletes Noah Toney of West Orange and Diogo Ferreira of Elizabeth were named to the All-Non Public B state teams.

Four former Felician University student-athletes will be inducted into the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame Oct. 13.

The Hall of Fame, a joint venture of the department of athletics and the office of alumni relations, will honor its fourth class of inductees as part of the university’s Homecoming Weekend.

Two of the honorees, women’s cross-country standout Amanda (Scibetta) Mammolito ’09 of Middletown and men’s basketball player Sadot E. Williams ’06 of Irvington, will be the first Golden Falcons in their sport to enter the Hall of Fame. They will be joined by record-setting baseball slugger Frank Quintana of Bradenton, Florida, and softball two-way threat Jackie Scarpari ’05 of Monroe Township.

The foursome swells the membership in the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame to 13 individuals (10 athletes, two contributors, one coach) and one team.
