Celebration will honor life of Rich Behnken

HOWELL — A celebration of the life of Rich Behnken will be held at noon Aug. 7 at the Southard Fire Department, Route 9, Howell. Behnken was a long-time social member of the fire department.

Behnken, 41, of Jackson, died on July 4 after battling cancer. His family is inviting the community to attend a celebration of life and memorial service.

In honoring Behnken’s wishes, the gathering is expected to be a joyous celebration for anyone who wishes to pay their respects.

Humorous stories about or special memories of Behnken may be written down and brought to the event so a scrapbook may be created for his children.

Behnken was described as a sports enthusiast who loved watching Orioles baseball, Giants football and Rangers hockey.
