Wine and music event coming to Horse Park, Sept. 3-4

The Garden State Wine Growers Association (GSWGA) will host the Wine & Music Experience at the Horse Park of New Jersey, Route 524, Upper Freehold Township, on Sept. 3-4 from noon to 5 p.m. (rain date Sept. 5).

The event, featuring 17 GSWGA wineries, will feature two bandstands and non-stop musical entertainment that will be headlined on Sept. 3 on the main stage by the Roomful of Blues Band, the American blues and swing revival band with a recording career spanning over 40 years, according to a press release. Long Gone Daddies will perform on the local stage and Burning Bridget Cleary will open on the main stage.

Musical entertainment on Sept. 4 will be headlined by the Slambovian Circus of Dreams on the main stage, as well as Rogues on the Run performing on the local stage and Hot Jazz Jumpers opening on the main stage.

Advance discounted tickets are on sale for $20 plus a fee at www.newjerseywines.com. This price is in effect until Aug. 14. The advance price will be $25 plus a fee through Aug. 28 and $30 plus a fee the week of the event and at the site.

The Standardbred Retirement Foundation will be the official charity of the Wine & Music Experience, according to the press release. A percentage of each ticket sold will benefit the mission of the organization.

The foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization created to care for, rehabilitate and secure lifetime adoption of non-competitive race horses to ensure their proper care with follow-up, and to combine the needs of at-risk youth with these horses in therapeutic equine programs to benefit both.
