Blood drive in Hazlet set for Aug. 25

HAZLET — Immediate Care Medical Walk-in of Hazlet will be hosting a blood drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m Aug. 25 at its location in Airport Plaza, 1376 Route 36. Immediate Care is an urgent care practice with locations in Hazlet, Toms River and East Windsor.

There is an urgent need for blood donations in New Jersey, and the drive is sponsored by Central Jersey Blood Center (CJBC), a nonprofit blood collection and distribution organization.

“At this point, the need for blood donations is an emergency. We are appealing to everyone to make donating blood a priority. For those who are donating blood, thank you. It is appreciated and needed,” said Director of Donor Relations for CJBC Michael Leviton in a press release.

All blood donors must be at least 16 years old, healthy and weigh at least 120 pounds. Bring a form of identification that contains a valid signature, drink water and eat a full meal before donating blood. To make an appointment, contact Karen Moore at kmoore@cjbcblood.org or 732-842-5750, ext. 243.
