Edison man indicted on drug-related fatality

NEW BRUNSWICK – A grand jury in Middlesex County indicted an Edison man on charges of providing drugs that caused the death of another township man.

Emile Constable Jr., 25, was charged with one count of first degree strict liability for drug induced death, one count of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of third degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, one count of fourth degree hindering and one count of third degree hindering, according to a statement prepared by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey on Aug. 9.

The charges were filed after an investigation determined that the Constable allegedly sold 10 bags of heroin to the victim. Each bag contained approximately one gram of heroin, according to officials.

Constable was charged on Feb. 25 after toxicological testing showed that the victim subsequently died on Feb. 24 after reportedly ingesting fentanyl and heroin, according to the statement.
