• “Inferno at Sea, Stories of Death and Survival Aboard the Morro Castle” will be presented at the Howell Library, 318 Old Tavern Road, Howell, on Sept. 8, which is the 82nd anniversary of the fire aboard the ship. The Morro Castle was sailing along the Jersey coast on its way from Cuba to New York when disaster struck on Sept. 8, 1934. This free program, which starts at 6:30 p.m., will be presented by authors Deb Whitcraft and Gretchen Coyle, who are maritime historians.
