FOX will premiere its new series Pitch on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 9 to 10 p.m. This is a dramatic and inspirational story of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball. Kylie Bunbury (Under the Dome) stars as Ginny Baker, the beautiful, tough and gifted athlete who is vaulted into instant fame when she is called up by the San Diego Padres to make her Major League debut. Like any rookie, Ginny must prove herself to her teammates, while being perceived as the most important historical figure in sports since Jackie Robinson. Representing her gender, Ginny embarks on a successful baseball career under a white-hot media spotlight.
The new comedy series High Maintenance will debut on HBO Friday, Sept. 16 at 11 p.m. Providing a glimpse into the homes and routines of eccentric New Yorkers, the series explores their private lives through a common thread — The Guy, their weed deliveryman, played by Ben Sinclair.
Investigation Discovery will premiere its three-part series JonBenét: An American Murder Mystery on Monday, Sept. 12 at 10 p.m., showcasing newly revealed evidence, exclusive interviews and archival materials of one of modern history’s coldest cases. It was the crime that gripped the nation — a bright 6-year old beauty queen is mysteriously murdered in her home the day after Christmas in 1996. Investigators navigated false leads, a heavily compromised crime scene and a maze of finger-pointing.
Mark Cuban, Sara Foster, Cole Swindell and former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes will serve as first round judges for the 96th Miss America Competition. The show will be hosted by Chris Harrison and co-hosted by Sage Steele. ABC Television will broadcast the event on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. from Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.
