North Brunswick is a wonderful, generous and caring community.

The Cajun fundraising event on Aug. 31 for the Louisiana flood victims was a huge success. This joint effort between North Brunswick Township and Chartwells Food Services raised over $3,000 for families in Louisiana who desperately need help now. Residents also donated plenty of gently used household items, clothing and school supplies.

As always, the generous community of North Brunswick pulled together to make a difference for people in need.

Special thanks go out to our Parks & Recreation Department employees who volunteered their time, Chartwells Food Services for providing the food, Chartwells employees for donating their time, our fantastic deejay who contributed his time and talents playing fun zydeco-style music, the North Brunswick Junior Police Academy and the North Brunswick Police Department for all of their help and to the many generous people who showed up to make a difference for others.

The people of North Brunswick truly make this town a very special place to live. I am very proud to call North Brunswick my home.
