The local Northern Monmouth County Branch of AAUW played a role in the establishment of the Monmouth County Library System and Brookdale Community College, and more recently was part of a group of community organizations that worked to improve ocean water quality in the 1980’s.

Since its inception, the group has been committed to providing educational opportunities for women and girls, and provides annual scholarships for students at Brookdale Community College, Monmouth University and Rutgers University. The group raises funds for scholarships and other special projects with its Used Book Sale, a weekly event from early Sept. until the end of June, and an annual Authors Luncheon in the spring.

AAUW members have the opportunity to participate in a variety of study groups ranging from literature to French and Spanish language groups, to an art history group. For more information about the local group and the upcoming Meet and Mingle, visit www.aauw-nj-nmcb.org. If planning to attend the Meet and Mingle, please register at aauw.nmcb@yahoo.com or call 732-933-4855. Please leave a phone number and email address when responding.
