The Woodbridge Public Library invites teens in grades 8-12 to earn community services hours and learn project management skills by becoming a member of the Teen Advisory Group. The first meeting of the group for the new school year will be held Sept. 15 from 3:45-4:45 p.m. in the Main Library BEC Room.

The library started the monthly program in January 2016 to promote services and get feedback from patrons attending middle and high school. This school year, the group will work on planning events for the fall and winter, including a Halloween party in October and a “Random Fandom” Night in November. They will also have the opportunity to give input on library purchases, and work on ideas for a TAG-generated magazine.

Each member of the group receives community service hours and is eligible for a reference letter for job or college applications. The group is open to teens in grades 8-12, including home-schooled students, and meets from 3:45-4:45 p.m. on a monthly basis in the Main Library BEC Room located at 1 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge, on the third floor. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for Sept. 15, Oct. 6, and Oct. 20.

Students can register for the Teen Advisory Group by stopping by a library location and completing the application, or simply attending a meeting. For more information, please contact the Teen Services librarian at 732-634-4450 ext. 7130 or email dgarcia@woodbridgelibrary.org.
