Change — it seems that’s the only thing you can count on these days.

Especially in the last few years, the changes in peoples’ lives and on a world level have been huge. Some major changes taking place for people are sudden job changes or a change in finances, along with sudden moves, sometimes to other countries, loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship or marriage, or a change in health. It could also be possible that a person has changed so much, they can no longer relate to their loved ones, making life very stressful. It seems everyone I come in contact with is going through at least one of these changes. It can be very difficult to feel relaxed and peaceful when we are going through challenging times.

The stress of change can affect us physically, emotionally and mentally. It can create symptoms in our bodies such as the adrenals not working properly. When this happens, the adrenals cannot produce enough cortisol. This could then affect the blood glucose levels, cause excessive fatigue, and increased susceptibility to infection. Stress can also affect blood pressure. If the blood pressure is high long term, it could lead to stroke, heart attack and kidney failure.

With all these possible physical symptoms, along with all the changes happening, you may feel as if you are in a pressure cooker. The physical, mental and emotional stress may be overwhelming. Reiki, a healing practice, which helps to balance and strengthen the energy of the body, can facilitate in easing these symptoms and help you regain a calm, balanced state of being. My clients say that they feel lighter in spirit, very calm and relaxed and stress doesn’t affect them like it did before. Another person who lost a child said that this was the first time in years they were able to feel joy. These are just a few of the many blessings of having a Reiki session. Reiki can also help ease pain, improve focus, improve sleep, reduce depression and anxiety, strengthen the immune system and help you have more energy. While Reiki is not a treatment for any conditions or disease, it does help to improve the flow of energy within and around the body by removing any energetic blockages. This improves the body’s ability to function at optimal levels. These energetic blockages are caused by stress, emotional and physical trauma, repressed feelings and emotions. If these blockages stay in the energy field too long, disease may be the result. Disease can show up in the energy field of a person a year or more before it affects the physical body.

How would you know if you need a Reiki session? There is a way to see how you are functioning energetically. I offer objective measurement of a person’s level of energetic flow and balance, using a state-of-the-art technology called the Aura Video Station. In about 15 minutes, painlessly and objectively, the body’s energy is scanned in real time. My analysis of this information, combined with my 16 years of experience, enables me to determine if blockages are present. If so, we can determine where they are located and their level of severity. The findings are provided in a detailed report which is reviewed, along with my personalized recommendations.

During a session, you lay on a massage table fully clothed. Soothing music plays in the background while the Reiki practitioner uses different hand positions by light touch or no touch at all. The session lasts for an hour.

Reiki is now used in more than 800 hospitals nationwide in conjunction with traditional medical care and is being sought as a natural means of maintaining balance and health. Why suffer through the physical, emotional and mental stress you may be going through? Reiki can help you feel better about yourself and your life.
