The Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church St, Middletown, will hold a statewide recovery month event, from 1 p.m.– 6 p.m. on Sept. 18. The event, the “2nd Annual New Jersey Celebrates Recovery” is free and open to the public, but registration is required via www.CelebrateRecoveryNJ.com.
The event seeks to remove the stigma associated with substance use disorders and drug use, and will feature a full range of art, entertainment, music, face-painting, giveaways and food samplings from area restaurants. Special guest will be Stanton Peele, J.D., Ph.D., who is an internationally renowned expert on drug use, addiction, harm reduction and drug policy.
