• A multi-family community yard sale will be held at Jensen’s Deep Run community center, 20 Longview Trail, Cream Ridge (Plumsted Township) on Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain or shine). All are welcome to attend. The entrance to Jensen’s Deep Run is on Route 537, a short distance east of the Route 537 and Route 539 intersection. Proceed to stop sign; community center is on the right.

 

• Affiliated Foot and Ankle Center, 4645 Route 9 north, Howell, will provide complimentary children’s foot and ankle exams from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 8. There will be refreshments. Children who exhibit in-toeing, heel pain, flat feet, ingrown toenails, plantar warts, pain or tiredness of the feet or legs, limping, falling or tripping may feel free to visit the office.

• Archives and History Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Manalapan. More than 60 local and state history organizations will have displays about topics relating to New Jersey history and their organization. To become an exhibitor, call 732-308-3771.

• St. Aloysius Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, offers support groups to help people better understand their feelings and to meet others who are dealing with the same life issues. A bereavement support group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. and a divorced and separated support group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Both meetings are held in the parish office. • State assemblywomen Joann Downey and Shavonda Sumter will be featured speakers at “Deal Me In,” the 2016 Monmouth County Women’s Democratic Caucus fundraiser to support women candidates for office. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Nauvoo Grill, Fair Haven. Tickets are $50. Details: 732-637-9126.

• The United Republican Club of Howell will meet on Sept. 20, Oct. 18 and Nov. 15 at the Howell First Aid Squad building, 16 Kent Road, Howell. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. On Sept. 20, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Hanlon will speak about “Election 2016 and What Voters Need to Know.” On Oct. 18, Monmouth County Surrogate Rosemarie Peters will discuss what the surrogate’s office does – wills, adoption, powers of attorney, etc. Details: Email naborrelli@yahoo.com

• Howell Day will be held from 1-8 p.m. Sept. 24 at Soldier Memorial Park, Howell. All are invited to enjoy children’s activities, face painting, a video game truck, free inflatable and mechanical rides, Touch-A-Truck, live entertainment, vendors, food vendors, fireworks and more. Shuttle buses available at Howell High School and at Howell Middle School South. Limited parking around the park.

• St. Aloysius School, 935 Bennetts Mill Road, Jackson, invites all middle school students to its annual High School Night on Sept. 22 from 7-9 p.m. Catholic high schools from the diocese, the Ocean County Vocational Performing Arts Academy and MATES, and Jackson STEM have been invited to present information to students and their parents. • The Millstone Elks will host their first Antique and Classic Car Show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Millstone Township Middle School, 5 Dawson Ct., Millstone Township. All years, makes and models welcome; $15 pre-registration, $20 day of show. Free admission to all spectators. Proceeds to benefit children with special needs. Music by Wolfman Jerry. • The Shrewsbury Chorale invites choral singers to participate in an open rehearsal on Sept. 20 from 7:45-10 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, 1475 W. • Congregation Ahavat Olam, 106 Windeler Road, Howell, will host a vendor/craft fair on Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature jewelry, wood products, Tupperware, sports, soaps, books, party supplies, elder law services, banking services, Judaica, clothing, handbags and more. • Bat Shalom Hadassah of Jackson-Howell will host a Hootenany at Doolan’s Shore Club, Spring Lake, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27. There will be entertainment, a band for dancing and a complete lunch. Music will feature a tribute to performers of the 1960s, including Peter, Paul and Mary, the Kingston Trio and more. • A free program for adults about mindful eating and losing weight will be presented by health coach practitioner Mary Jane Tecker at 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Jackson library. Registration is required. Details: 732-928-4400.

• The Monmouth County Genealogy Society will present its fall workshop, “An In-Depth Look at Federal Census Records,” on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 72 Broad St., Eatontown. Four presenters will focus on that topic. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $15 for society members ($20 at the door) and $20 for non-members. • Jackson Rotary Club is sponsoring a bus trip to the Tropicana Casino, Atlantic City, on Sept. 18. Cost of $34 includes bus transportation, lunch and beverages on the bus, $25 back in slot play from the casino, and gratuity for driver. • The Friends of the Plumsted Library will collect used books for a book sale. Donate fiction, nonfiction, large print, children’s books, CDs, DVDs, audio books, and puzzles. No soiled or mildewed items. No video tapes, Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines or encyclopedias. Drop off books behind the Plumsted Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 1. Do not leave items if no one is present. • Vendors are being sought for a fall flea market to be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Road, Upper Freehold Township (Allentown), from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 24 (rain or shine) in the church parking lot. • The Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority will hold its public meetings at 5:30 p.m. in its administrative offices at 135 Manhattan St., Jackson, on the following dates in 2016: Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 17, Dec. 15; and on the following dates in 2017: Jan. 26 and Feb. 2 (reorganization).
