Geraldine M. Engelhardt, 84, of Keyport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Madison Center in Matawan. She was born Geraldine M. Gromback on Dec. 25, 1931, in Newark and grew up in West Creek.
Geraldine married her husband, Frank Engelhardt, and together they settled in Union Beach to raise their family. Later in life, they retired to Florida, and in recent years moved back to Keyport.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Dorothy; her sister, Janice; her brother, Butchie; and her granddaughter, Andrea. Geraldine is survived by her beloved husband, Frank; her loving children, Jennifer and her husband, Michael, of Keyport, Frank of Keyport, and Charles and his wife, Brenda, of Elwood, Indiana; her dear sister, Dorothy; her cherished grandchildren, Charles, Jordan and Brittany; along with her adored great-grandchildren, Skyla, James and Brooklyn. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
In respect of Geraldine’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 6-7 p.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 north, Hazlet. A prayer service will be offered during visiting hours.
