• The Ladies of St. Joseph, Millstone Township, will sponsor a bus trip to Lancaster, Pa., for Sight & Sound Theatres’ presentation of “Samson” on Dec. 6. Bus departs from St. Joseph Church at 9 a.m. and returns at approximately 8:30 p.m. There will be a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch smorgasbord lunch at Shady Maple and shopping time after lunch. • PJ Library is offering a free music class at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at Solomon Schechter Day School, Marlboro. • Temple Rodeph Torah, Marlboro, is inviting all active military and military reserve personnel and their families to all of its High Holiday services (Oct. 2-12) at no cost, as well as individuals and their families who are 35 and under. • The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, Freehold Township, will present a Children’s Make and Take Art Journal Workshop for children and adults to make and enjoy together. • “Being Mortal,” a film that investigates the practice of caring for the seriously ill and challenges viewers to re-examine their thinking about aging and mortality, will be shown at the Reformed Church Home’s Old Bridge campus from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 18. There is no cost to attend. A light supper will be available at 5:30 p.m. After the screening, audience members can participate in a panel discussion led by medical professionals about how to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences. • Manalapan MRC-CERT will collect used and old clothing and other household items on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at town hall, Route 522. • The Manalapan Board of Health will sponsor a free rabies immunization clinic for dogs and cats on Nov. 5 from 9-11:30 a.m. in the Manalapan Recreation Center, Route 522, at the new expansion building by Field K and the spray park. • The Freehold Township Education Foundation will host its fifth annual Monte Carlo Night fundraiser from 6-11 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Eagle Oaks Country Club, Howell.
