Rupak Darshan Mehta is one of a trio of seniors who have been named captains of the 2016 Bentley University (Waltham, Massachusetts) men’s cross-country team.

Bentley, which finished second in the NCAA Division II East Region last fall to earn a trip to the NCAA Championships, holds that same position in this year’s preseason U.S. Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association regional rankings and just missed out on cracking the preseason top 25.

Mehta, a Howell High School graduate who missed last season because of  an injury,  was 38th in the 2014 NE-10 championships and 39th in the East Regional that same year.

The Bentley cross-country team is making a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Trevecca Division II Showcase Sept. 24.
