JAMESBURG — Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios met with senior citizens in Jamesburg as part of a series of visits to municipal senior centers throughout the county.

Rios was joined on Sept. 14 by Laila Caune, director of the county’s Office of Aging and Disabled Services, and Doug Breen, veterans services coordinator. They shared information about county programs available for veterans, active seniors and those looking for varying levels of care, according to a statement prepared by the Middlesex County Office of Communication.

“Seniors are living longer, are healthier and like to live independently in their homes with the right supports,” Rios said in the statement. “The Middlesex County Freeholder Board and our entire county staff are dedicated to serving our residents. By visiting with our seniors, we are able to inform them on the programs they may not have known were available, and I get to hear from them as to what they are looking for. These sessions have provided a great dialogue, and I enjoy them very much.”

Rios has already met with senior citizens in Carteret, East Brunswick, Old Bridge, Perth Amboy, Sayreville and South Brunswick. The next visit will be at the Piscataway Senior Center on Oct. 26.
