Flavor of Freehold will return on Oct. 4-5

FREEHOLD – A trip to Freehold Borough in October will support efforts to fight substance abuse in the community.

On Oct. 4-5 from 5:30-8 p.m., the downtown district of Freehold Borough will host the Flavor of Freehold featuring offerings from local businesses.

The event is presented by Downtown Freehold, which schedules and promotes events in the borough, and the Freehold Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse, which promotes the awareness and prevention of substance abuse in Freehold Borough and Freehold Township.

Proceeds from the Flavor of Freehold will benefit the alliance.

Attendees at the Flavor of Freehold will be offered samples of food from the Court Jester, San Marzano Trattoria, Shloka of Freehold, Market Yard Grille (in the American Hotel), Cafe 360, Federici’s, Uncle Ralston’s Homestyle Cooking, Metropolitan Cafe and Aarzu Modern Indian Bistro, according to representatives of Downtown Freehold.

Additional restaurants may provide samples during the event.

The Freehold Art Gallery, Jemm Optical and Especially for You Florist & Gift Shop will also participate in the Flavor of Freehold.

Musician Tyrone Fredericks Jr. will stroll East Main Street with his saxophone; DJ Bill Santana of Poshe Social Events will host karaoke on Oct. 4 at the Downtown Freehold Performance Courtyard between Especially for You Florist & Gift Shop, 39 W. Main St., and Headquarters shoe store, 23 W. Main St.

On Oct. 5, Bobby and the Jets, an Elton John tribute band, will perform in the downtown district, according to a press release.

Individuals who pre-purchase tickets will receive a $10 gift card to some of the participating businesses, according to the press release.
