On Sept. 3, while investigating a group of suspicious people, fellow officer Joshlee Vadell was shot in the head.

Vadell, 29, was rushed to the hospital and eventually released, but his family is facing a long road as his wife just gave birth to their third child. Waddell asked the school to provide assistance since his brother is good friends with Vadell.
