Cheers & Jeers

by Damian Holbrook

Cheers to Gotham
for not even needing a Dark Knight. With Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) pairing up and a bevy of DC Comics femme fatales on the loose, the adventures of young Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) are better and battier than ever in Season 3.

Cheers to Blindspot
for keeping it all relative. No longer Little Orphan Assassin, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) now has a brother (Luke Mitchell) and an enigmatic adoptive mom (Michelle Hurd), who are proving to be twisted and terrifically welcome additions to her family tree.

Jeers to CBS All Access
for delaying our access to the final frontier. The eye net’s streaming service has pushed the launch of Star Trek: Discovery from early 2017 to May, making just a few months feel like a five-year mission to the end of our patience. We blame Khan.

Jeers to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
for going long. You know what this show doesn’t need? More words in its title. So let’s drop the newly added “Ghost Rider” tag and get to saving the world instead of taking up our Twitter characters.
