Lectures will be offered at the South Brunswick Senior Center during the month of November for resident members age 55 and older.
“South Brunswick – Then & Now, A History of Our Township” will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 17. Carolyn McCallum, the first female mayor elected in South Brunswick, will lead a roundtable discussion about changes in the township government, the township’s growth from a simple farm community,and the impact of the first development in Kendall Park.
Christine Rodriguez, outreach worker from the Puerto Rican Action Board, will be accepting Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Universal Service Fund applications (USF) for the 2016-17 heating season from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17. The topics are: how societies can grow old together, 12:35 p.m. Nov. 2; how to raise successful kids without over-parenting, 10:45 a.m. Nov. 9; Jane Fonda’s life’s third act, 12:30 p.m. Nov. 16; How to live to be older than 100, 10:45 a.m., Nov. 23; and Why we laugh, 10:45 a.m., Nov. 30.
Edgar Degas will be the subject of an art lecture at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 18.
South Brunswick Police Sgt. Eugene Rickle will discuss holiday safety at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 19.
